Very close to all the key locations such as Lauterbrunnen, cable way, Interlaken. Lovely views and super friendly hosta. We were there with two young children and they loved it, so excellent for a family. Will return to them again.

The check-in and friendly staff left a very good first impression. One of the best check-in's I've ever experienced, the staff feel like family in no time. The breakfast was absolutely amazing. The best breakfast buffet out of our entire vacation. The bread! The butter!! Homemade jams and jellies! The location of this hotel is absolutely breathtaking. The pictures really do not do it justice. The info booklet we got at check-in had some local walks listed on a map and we did two of three, one in the evening and one in the morning. Gorgeous views to be had here, and plenty of cows and goats with bells and lovely gardens all around the neighbourhood. We stayed in the family room with the loft, even though the air conditioner didn't work well enough to cool the loft - the kids still found it comfortable. The main bed was a bit too short for my husbands 6 foot 6 frame so he had to sleep on the extra twin bed, but I found the main bed very comfortable. The views from our room were stunning. I very much enjoyed staying in this little village instead of one of the more touristy towns nearby. Staying in Hofstetten gives you a glimpse of local life that you wouldn't get otherwise. There is a woodworking school right across the street, there is a lovely local store diagonally down the street, there is a really fun playground with a zip line and long slide up the hill to the left. I never wanted to leave!!! If you are looking for some great dinner options, I would recommend driving up to Axalp, there is the most amazing restaurant. NOT the Bellevue restaurant (not as authentic), but the next restaurant after that. This is where you get real authentic Swiss food! The Gemischter Salat is out of this world. The waitress we had was one of the most memorable dining experiences we've ever had. She had lived in the area her entire life and gave us great tips and was fun to talk to. Gorgeous views of Brienzerzee below especially at sunset.
